Opener 'Neustrelitz' already marks a subtle departure from the strictly reduced soundscape of Eskimo*'s debut: mature, more refined, hauntingly atmospheric, it's an epic hommage to the legendary 'fusion festival': a clandestine global techno gathering hidden away behind a deserted soviet airbase. Trembling with anticipation its hypnotically slow build-up stretches over nine minutes during which soft pads give way to looming strings while a driving synth bassline serves as motor and recreates the increasing tension during each traveller's journey, as one passes through the eponymous small town symbolizing the last stronghold of civilization before - finally - arriving at the pearly gates to said otherworldly neverland.
